Shabby chic hotel, which kind of fits into the environment. This was the second time we stayed here as it’s a perfect overnight stop for us. Yes it needs updating, bathroom decor late 70s, early 80s but all in all, good value for money. Hotel is in a great location for walking, cycling and hiking.

I travel thru Europe on motorcycle every year and have stayed in many different hotel. The only thing good about this hotel was the food, The room was old and dirty. Internet never worked, No TV. Smallest shower i have ever seen. Not worth the money charged. Worth maybe 35euros.

OK, firstly this hotel closes its reception at 22:00,after which you have to get your keys from a safe box using a code. To get the code if you don't have one is a game of chance. You must call a local number and hope they pick up the phone. We arrived at 22:10 in the pouring rain to find it closed, there was a piece of paper in German no other languages, with a telephone number on, so we tried calling but couldn't get through. We then called hotels.com who couldn't get through either. Fourtunately a german guest, who spoke English, came out for a cigarette and he managed to get through to the hotel and we finely got our key some 30 to 40 minutes after arriving. When we got to our dated and in much need of attention room, all information was in German only. So we had no idea how to work the TV (silly as it sounds there was a mix of sky box and antenna TV which was asking for some sort of confirmation in german), nor were we able to connect to the WiFi. If it had been earlier or not raining we would have looked for other accommodation. Hotels.com sent an email requesting immediate response to us from the hotel and we're still waiting.... All this said the breakfast room was nice as was the breakfast, although the stuff spoke only German..

When booking in hotel the staff could have been polite, restaurant was closed so went to Chinese just down the road (which was excellent), breakfast was good.Would not stay here again, photos impress.Loading the car on exit ,staff could again be more polite.

Decent place in beautiful area
The hotel is quite old and not everywhere renewed. The hallways were not clean. Room was ok. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast quite good! A lot of choice. The area is gorgeous.

OK for an overnight stay
Only stayed overnight. Hotel is in good location to where we want to go the next day. The hotel itself doesn’t pretend to be something else. The room itself is comfortable enough, the bathroom is of good size and has a tub. The bed is a bit springy and pillows not that great. The hallway going to the rooms look dodgy and the carpets look dirty. The breakfast was a surprise, it was quite good for a 3* hotel. Overall, we were happy with our stay for the rate that we got it.

Good location
nice town, functional hotel, big dis-advantage if you are not fluent in German. very low season, few staff around to ask about anything, except receptionist in the morning, just as we were leaving!

Clean but sterile hotel (like many german hotels)
The room was very clean and the balcony was nice even in novmber. All round i think the hotel is very 'sterile' and lacks athmosphere. The staff was OK but some were a bit 'stiff'. The lady from the restaurant and that checked us out was very nice. I think the lack of atmosphere should be cause for concern. I don't really know what you could do, but something needs to be done to make it a bit more warm and friendly.
