The photos depicting this property are entirely innaccurate. The rooms are run down. some smell like mold. Rotted doors. Broken locks. Entire property in desperate need of repair. I wanted to cancel the moment I arrived but had no other options
Very outdated hotel, based for early check in, wasn't available, then got my room and ac wasn't working, moved to another room and a portable ac unit was set up in the room, appliances were all from the 80s. My personal opinion the amount they charge for rooms they should invest into renovating and upgrading the rooms. The only thing modern I will say is the TV.
our room must have been a revamped storage room right next to the public restroom, ice machine , and front desk. All night long all we heard was doors slamming, people talking and a loud ice machine next to our door ( i think we only got like 6 hrs sleep total in 3 days). We had no view of anything, the only window was down a 3 foot wide 15 foot long weird corridor in our room ( the view was a plant and a wall). The room itself was in a "c" pattern wrapped around another room that was obviously a storage area (it was not even square or rectangle, it was very awkward and undesirable. I would have rather stayed at a motel with natural lighting because the only lighting for the room was the interior electrical lights. I've stayed at bad cheap rooms before but this one will always be talked about in a negative way ruining my Catalina experience. And I'm not a bad review person, I usually put up with anything and keep my mouth shut making the best of things.
The young lady at the reception was very nice. The room condition was really bad, old and dirty. My family booked 3 rooms. 2 rooms on 1st floor are barely acceptable condition; one of the microwave was rusted really bad inside, fire hazard! The room on 2nd floor was really outdated, dirty sofa and furnitures and super dirty carpet. We paid $400 plus for each room included tax and resort fee, totally not worth it. Lucky we only stayed for 1 night.
Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Ocean view from the balcony was nice. However, the property and buildings were in rough shape. The room was in extremely poor condition. Everything was from the 1970s and not refurbished or repaired since then.

Just to stay one night is ok , but no longer also staff is disturbing you to leave early from the place
We decided to stay here because my husband and I love to have a tub. The jetted tub was the only new item in the room. The property is very old and not kept up. The back of the front door had a chunk missing out of the panel, tiles were cracked, rust on the side of the refrigerator, doors didn’t shut correctly, no dresser, no blow dryer, no iron and no nightstand on one side of the bed. The room was clean and the people at the front were very nice but I would not stay again. Needs some TLC.
The front desk staff was nice and accommodating. The room and the hotel itself really run down. The room was dirty. The bathroom toilet was dirty and after seeing that I questioned were the linens changed. Unpon further investigation of the room, curtains had stains, linens were dusty, no soad to wash hands had to use dish soap. I took pictures but it wont let me share them.
The hotel is pretty hard to find using maps. The application tells you to go up several flights of stairs which is not true. You should make a left on the street left of the flight of stairs and up the hill towards the hotel. The staff is friendly but the rooms are honestly outdated. I’m a lover of vintage but some of the curtains and carpet need to be replaced. The bathtub faucets need a good cleaning and the walls need to be filled. The prices are too high for what it is. But I did have a place to sleep and shower in so that was nice! There’s a mini fridge and I believe a microwave too.
