The area surrounding the hotel has a lot of construction going on (it seems that is everywhere is Austin) but the hotel abuts Rainey St which has an abundance of great restaurants and bars with live entertainment. We also took a quick walk to Cenote for breakfast, a must go! It’s also a 5 minute walk to a trail abutting Lake Lady Bird, part of the Colorado River, where you can rent kayaks and paddle boards. It’s also not a far drive from the shopping district. The hotel is clean, modern, and staff were great. Wonderful pool with a bar beside it too.

Newish hotel right next to I-35. Nicely appointed and very clean looking. Hotel is very noisy and walls are paper thin. Could hear everything through the walls and endless road traffic noises all night long. Unauthorized charges were placed on my credit card after my checkout. Room had kitchen smells coming into it throughout the night. Must be a venting issue as it is located 2 floors above the kitchen. Wanted to love it but it fell short.

Great location, staff was friendly, amenities decent. Only issue was the cleanliness of the room itself. The bathroom was spotless, but the living area was a mess. Crumbs and hand prints and coffee grinds all over both counters. It could be just a fluke where someone was distracted and forgot to wipe these areas down, but you cannot miss those areas! They are reflective and show everything.

Great Hotel!
I’m not entirely sure how old the Cambria is, but it feels relatively new, with everything in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. The staff we interacted with were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which added to the positive experience. The only downside was its location near Rainey Street. While we chose this hotel for its proximity to the area, Rainey Street has been largely overtaken by high-rises, leaving only a few of the original bars that still retain their charm. Additionally, there’s a hotel/condo high-rise across the street with a lobby bar that plays loud music late into the night. This might be why the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, and I’d happily stay at another Cambria if they maintain this level of quality.
