Great location right by the main station in Augsburg but absolutely no noise from the railway or anything else. Location was also good for the town centre shops, restaurants and public transport. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet had plenty of choice with both hot and cold items on offer. This was our first stay at Rugs Hotel but we would definitely stay again should we return to Augsburg in the future.

This hotel was saved from a poor review by the attitude and helpfulness of the staff. Special mention for Sim who was not just efficient but good humoured and charming. Although the chief issue of fellow guest noise was dealt with smoothly and speedily, the quality of fittings in both rooms we used was sub-optimal (broken door handles, faulty safe, broken heating control, windows would only open fully on the top floor (hugely dangerous given the number of small and loose children staying) The hotel cannot be blamed for the conduct of other guests nor the lack of parental control, but the minor attention to repairing broken door furniture would go a long way. For those planning to stay, its clean, friendly, handy for the station and the staff are excellent; bring earplugs as the walls are VERY thin and prepare for a pretty small room, even at superior level.

I had an excellent stay at Rugs Hotel Augsburg

I had an excellent stay at Rugs Hotel Augsburg. Due to a convention going on in Munich, and drastically upcharged hotel rooms, I decided to stay in Augsburg and commute to Munich by train on the days I wanted. The train was only 30 minutes from Augsburg to Munich. The Rugs Hotel is located right next to Augsburg HBF so it was easy to hop on and off of the train and walk to the hotel. The place was clean, quiet and comfortable. Absolutely no complaints.

Short term reservation. It was difficult to find the hotel entry, but once at the reception very very friendly and fas check-in, everything was already prepared for my arrival. Breakfast was very good, and with a very caring service personnel. I think the boss himself was cleaning the tables and asking for ‘everything ok?’.

Ich verbringe ca. 60-70 Nächte jährlich in Hotels weltweit. So etwas ist mir bisher noch nie passiert... Übelste Gerüche aus / in der Dusche; selbst nach "Wasser laufen lassen" hielt sich der Gestank in der Dusche hartnäckig und wurde eher noch verstärkt... Duschen ist daher ausgefallen und an der Rezeption wurde meine Beschwerde zur Kenntnis genommen - mehr auch nicht... Frühstück war vielfältig und qualitativ ok.

Cleanliness matters...a lot!

There was black mold in the room and the bathroom had a terrible smell that would not go away even after we cleaned the bathroom ourselves. Great location and acceptable service but cleanliness needs a lot of attention
