Air con not working

Air con was not working and I called before we left for dinner nothing had happened when I returned at 10pm still hot hot rang and 20mins later nothing so I called 15 times no answer then finally when they answered I was so tired and hot I demanded another room …. Which was absolutely beautiful thank you very much just a shame poor service

The problem was the cutting edge lighting switches were so cutting edge i couldnt figure out how they worked. Same with the hot water taps in the shower....couldnt regulate them for a good result. For directions from the front desk staff and he couldnt respond... so i went to the concierge. Food and beverage at the "8" was really good.

Generally an excellent stay. Staff were outstanding. A couple of niggles. 1.Checking in we were required to provide photo ID. We are local and arrived by taxi. My husband made the booking and left his driver licence at home. Although my name was also on the booking my photo ID was not acceptable to the Cordis. The hassle that followed could have been avoided if there had been a reminder on the booking information. 2. Dinner cost - we had planned to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with dinner at Eight restaurant. At $148 per dinner per person it was out of our price range. We sat on the street and enjoyed fish and chips from a local takeaway

We have enjoyed staying at the Cordis for many years (was the Sheraton) and although have strayed too other newer hotels have always come back to the Cordis. The grand entrance, welcome greeting and having grown up in London with the many now famous iconic old grand Hotels I feel that the Cordis has established itself in Auckland with the same special service. The only little upset was the service of our room which was incomplete with dirty glasses having been left and the bathroom not replenished. An over site I am sure.

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive but our check in time at 3:00 came and went. We finally got in our room a little after 5:00. They did give us a free drink at the bar but we were sitting there waiting for over 2 hours.
