Rooms very modern and of a high standard, the rooftop pool is incredible and the food both during breakfast and also in the restaurant amazing. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend! The area east to the hotel bit sketchy so if you're going to the centre of Athens go straight down or use the metro

The hotel Stanley was fantastic. Very friendly and warm staff glad to help, fluent in English. Arian nearby very nice everyone friendly good food. Transportation and buses are trains very close.

This hotel was great! Clean and comfortable. Loved that it has a restaurant and the front desk staff were so helpful and kind. Very beautiful hotel! Would definitely stay again!

Short trip to athens

We stayed at The Stanley for 5 nights in April 25. We had high expectations from the photos shown for this hotel . Whilst the rooftop bar, pool and lounging areas are lovely with great views, the rooms were exceptionally poor. More like a 2 star hotel room than a 4 star one. However the hotel staff were very pleasant and the hotel was located next to a tube station which was really handy.

LOVED all the Stanley had to offer. The staff was amazing, the Sweet basil restaurant was fabulous. If I had to nit pick, the only issue we ran into was the elevator situation. They only have 2 and we were on the 8th floor. Only 1 of the 2 were functioning and found ourselves using the stairs primarily.

The staff was the nicest part of our stay. A little disappointed because the hotel did not look lol the photos AT ALL!!!! Not very tidy we stayed for a few days and they would make our beds but not change the sheets.. and the menu was bland . I don’t think I would stay again .. but the people were sweet . Property though does not look like photos maybe at one point it did . Oh and elevators keep not working .

The hotel has an excellent rooftop pool / bar area that is worth staying here for but it is on the edge of a less desirable area that makes walking to the major sites in Athens a uncomfortable. Our room was really hot when we entered but we were told that the hotel air conditioning wasn't on yet so we would have to open the window. It was very noisy outside so we couldn't sleep like that making it a very unpleasant night. The shower was also tiny and hard to maneuver in. This could have been that we just got given a 'lower quality' room - they did mention at check in that they would upgrade us but then obviously didn't. The staff were all very nice however.

City break in Athens

Nice hotel, right next door to Metaxourghio metro so very useful for getting around. The rooftop bar (lovely attentive staff) and pool is amazing what a joy in a city centre. Breakfast is on the top floor so you have a lovely cityscape to enjoy, the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Our only complaint was that at this time of year the a/c is not on so the room was stifling so much that we did not sleep for the two nights. In addition, our room was also facing directly on Karasikaki Sq which, which is very busy and noisy all day and night with vehicles, so if you need ventilation you just can’t due to the noise. If the door is closed you can’t hear a thing. This isn’t necessarily a complaint and we didn’t take it up with the hotel just a real problem for us. Would we stay again, probably, but we would ask to be facing toward the square.

A must-stay with incredible food and service

TLDR - a must stay for anyone visiting Athens with some of the best service we’ve ever experienced, as a couple who travel weekly with work in the UK. Stunning acropolis views from the rooftop bar/pool/restaurant too! Incredible service - some of the most polite, friendly and personal service I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. The staff went above and beyond to share their vast expertise with us and make our trip feel incredibly special. hotel was incredibly clean, modern and smart - gorgeous roof top restaurant/bar and lovely pool and sunbathing area. The room was very smart and clean too. The restaurant was excellent - so good that we ate there 2/3 nights. The prices were very reasonable (vs London!) and the food incredibly flavoursome and varied. Would particularly recommend the sushi combo plate for 2! Staff were again very knowledgeable and recommended lovely bottles of local wine, whilst maintaining attentive and friendly service. Breakfast had a wide selection of cooked and cold options, couldn’t fault it. Only slight complaint was that the room was too hot - we couldn’t work out how to cool it down. I suspect it was due to the transition between winter and summer for the central heating system - one to speak to reception about if visiting in the summer. 25/23 couple from London who travel weekly for work, looking for a mix of sightseeing and a nice hotel to relax in.

Very well run hotel with super helpful staff. The rooms are a little uneven: our vip room is adequate in size, but another room we stayed later is small, especially the shower size might be too small for half of typical American tourists. So we recommend pay a bit more to stay in a bigger room.
