Great place to stay for an early departure...
This is a great place to prepare for a departure to return home. We had an early flight, so we didn't want to worry about traffic from Athens, so getting to this hotel relieved us of that issue. We were able to walk right across the street and go to the airport. Restaurants were good, rooms were awesome, we even had a spa day!

The hotel is nice, clean and well located for early flight. You pay for the location in the price and the restaurant food was expensive and just ok. You can find nice hotels with much better places to eat a little bit away from the airport. It was very comfortable. With nice facilities.

The Sofitel is a perfectly fine, but overpriced, property that doesn't deliver a strong value. The bed was the strongest part of the rooms - soft and comfortable with great linens. The room was a reasonable size and quite clean, although there were stains on the roll-in bed that I didn't love. I did have some problems with the interior. Consistent hot water is absolutely not an optional add-on at this price point, and yet I could not get it in the bathrooms even during the first shower of the day. The sink and bathing facilities are also an entirely separate room from the toilet, and while I generally like them being divided, having to walk out the bathroom door and down the entryway to use them wasn't ideal. My biggest complaint about the Sofitel is simply its price. I expect a premium in an airport hotel, but the one required here is in my view exorbitant. A single room is north of $300; however, it comes with a limitation of three guests per room, including children, and requires an entirely additional room or suite upgrade if any of them are above the age of 12. That pushes the total cost for a family of four to $600 . The Sofitel is simply not competitive at that price point - it's nice, but no nicer than an average Westin. The policy is simply absurd in my view. These are not tiny rooms (they have two twin beds and a roll-away), and I can only attribute it to the desire to maximize revenue. It damages the convenience value prop.
