People were helpful, hotel is meh

We stayed one night. The hotel has had some wear and tear. There was also a giant stack of boxes and cardboard off the lobby which made it feel there was some construction/ remodeling work being done but there was no other indication. Parking lot was small. It was fine for the amount of time we spent in the room, but I won’t seek out this hotel for a future stay in Athens.

This hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. The room was filthy and in much need of a complete renovation. Housekeeping was nonexistent during my stay. It looked like they were doing construction in the lobby and they left tools and discarded boxes in the eating area. Calling the breakfast “slop“ might be a compliment. My second day l, I opted to go out for breakfast and forgo the unsanitary, undercooked, garbage they put out. This hotel needs some serious upgrade.

The property is close to dinning and shopping options and is a short drive from downtown and the UGA campus. The staff is super friendly and helpful. This was our second time staying here. My only complaint is that the pool could be a little warmer.

If I could attach pictures, I would. There were stains on the carpet, hairs in both beds, and food on the floor. Filthy. We checked out and didn't even stay the second night.

Staff was nice but the property was not. The key card mechanism to our room was inoperable. The staff had to assist us in opening our room. There were stains on everything (floor, chairs, towels, etc). Half of the light bulbs were missing from the lamps. Housekeeping did not remove food from refrigerator left from previous guests. There was a half eaten piece of chocolate and an empty bag of chips on the dresser when we checked into our room. We alerted the front desk staff to all the issues, but they were unable to assist with other accommodations due to the property being fully booked for the night.

Needs major updates and cleaning

This was our 2nd stay here, and I should have trusted my gut from my first experience. First let me say that the front desk crew was super friendly, and check in was super easy. The first time we stayed here it was due to being the most affordable during a home football game so we excused some of the things that will cause me to never stay here again. The hotel is in need of major updating. The room was quite dirty. I even wiped down the bathroom walls before I could even go in there. We were out of the hotel more than we were in so I didn’t complain while I was there nor do I think they could have done anything. We stayed 2 nights, and had to ask for clean towels twice. I would usually reuse, but once they touched surfaces I wouldn’t dare. The remotes didn’t work well in the room, and the furniture was filthy….even the lamp shades were stained. I did see quite a few large boxes in the lobby area so maybe there is a renovation on the horizon. My only positive besides the friendly staff are the size of the rooms. They are very roomy.
