Super cute cozy room. Yeah the wildlife can be noisy but not too bad. Saunas were nice and clean and easy to use. Staff was super friendly.

We had a lovely stay. The sea lions were a bonus. The weather was very rainy and it was nice to have a room with a view and a fireplace. Had a lovely light dinner at the bar. Just perfect.

This was by far the best room I’ve ever stayed at at the coast. We were in the Ice house Luxe King room the views were amazing. It we very private and comfortable.

Astoria is a great place. Hotel located in perfect location. We did 4 night “staycation” here. I read reviews for this hotel and thought guests were exaggerating Sea Lion noise. Here’s the honest PROs and CONs. Starting with PROs. one of the nicer hotels right on river. King room floor #1 was spacious with rustic decor, high ceilings,concrete floors, very clean. Small patio overlooking river. Hotel room is on a pier and extends over water. Right next to trolley and walking to everything. Parking was priced reasonable for springtime, but self parking was free and easy in March. Our checkin staff was very friendly. If you are a light sleeper this is definitely not the hotel for you. The sea lions live at this hotel. They are very fun to observe. The CONs it is not an exaggeration that the sea lions are so loud you won’t get a lot of rest. The hotel gives earplugs and a soothing sounds machine in room to help cancel the noise, but THE SEA LIONS are LOUD all night and all hours. I had booked the room awhile ago and reserved 2nd floor Trolley side after reading reviews about sea lion noise. My husband asked for river view upgrade upon checkin. I’d forgotten reviews had stated these 1st floor Riverside rooms were very noisy. We were charged extra for the “upgrade” and I wish the nice lady at checkin would’ve explained a room change would be noisy compared to what we had actually booked. The noise isn’t just constant barking, they reside directly under the 1st floor riverside rooms.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely property. It is beautifully designed, with everything you could need thought of down to bedside wireless chargers and a white noise machine. The customer service was the best part though. They happily checked us in early, accommodated our children and were always very friendly. We had some very good cocktails from their bar. We have already planned our next trip back.
