I have no problem with this hotel. I do have a problem with Orbitz for NOT PROCESSING this booking properly. Hotel staff had an issue giving us the 3 rooms that we booked under 1 name and so it took more than an hour to get us situated. I think this is the last time we are booking with Orbitz/Expedia for having issues not only with this booking but also from the last few reservations that are turning into a nightmare!!!! It did not used to be like this. We have been a client for a long time but its time to look for better companies!

This hotel was a perfect spot to stay while visiting sites in DC that is reasonably priced. It also felt safer than staying in downtown DC. Great dining options within walking distance, especially Makers Union-highly recommend for great food and great vibe and service.

This hotel's location was the most positive aspect. The Crystal City Metro is a few blocks away and will easily take you to most of the DC sites including Arlington Cemetery. There are several decent restaurants within walking distance and the hotel provides an airport shuttle. As for the hotel itself, it was basic and clean. Our beds seemed older and uneven. The breakfast is marginal. Service in the rooms is slow or lacking. The fan on the heating and cooling units will not continually run so bring your ear plugs. The streets get noisy and it is on a corner. We visited during a busy time of year so this may have accounted for the less than optimal service.

Non-standard check in time…. 4pm. Arrived early around 2pm, had 4pm tour booked, the front desk said 1 of our rooms would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Since they weren’t ready, we asked about a local recommendation for a BURGER place to eat. The girl at the front desk recommended McDonald’s or Chik-Fil-A. It was only after a male staff (maintenance guy?) Came out and recommended Z-Burger that we had a place to go. When we returned, we could check in to 1 of them, but we were refused to check into the other because the duvet cover was not yet ready. We said it’s fine, they could bring it up and change it, but were told it’s against policy. We just wanted to drop off our luggage and be able to freshen up, and were refused. We did finally get the other room right before the tour guide got there. The next issue was constant pot smoke in the halls and elevators. The breakfast was 6:00-9:30 which was reasonable, except once Saturday hit, there was no place to sit and the food was not being brought out once it hit 9:15. Usually places serve a little later on the weekends. This Hampton did not. We had 2 suites, the bathrooms had inward swinging doors that basically require you to open and step in the shower in order to get in and out of the bathroom because there is no space. The rooms themselves were nice, but, and this is a big problem. No room service. They only proved “every four days” per front desk. Conveniently the amount of time we were staying. It was pretty awful.
