We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and we love history. So what better way to spend it than at one of the historic inn in Annapolis! The Calvert House is charming and has all the amenities we needed. A plethora of restaurants and shopping was within walking distance. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We recommend 100%!
You register in one building and then are sent to another. We had a ground floor room. That means the bottom of your window are at street level. It was so noise we left and went home. Very unsafe and there were several empty rooms. I feel because we went through Hotels.com we got the worst room in the hotel.
Superb location. Very nice rooms with ample space and great decor. Friendly and responsive staff. There were a couple items that kept it from 5 star. The hotel hosts many outside events in their ballroom during the day and the only access is through the main lobby. Attendees walk through the small lobby area and right by all the guest sitting areas. Lots of commotion and disruption. A knowledgeable concierge to assist guests would be a help. They only have one king room with a handicap accessible bathroom.
Everything was excellent and room itself was very quiet. Construction around the Capital building made for a noisy morning but not the fault of the hotel.
Great location in Annapolis right in the center of everything. I did not realize that this hotel is actually 3 separate buildings some distance apart in the downtown. But they helped us to get to the building we were in. Parking with the hotel was $40 which was an unexpected additional expense.
We liked the area our room was nice but had two temperatures, hot or cold. The coffee maker did not heat. We were told that the inn had a restaurant it did not. We also were surprised that we had to stay in another building than where we checked in. We also had to ask to pay for parking on our room tab. We were asked to reply to a text and set up payment information for parking. Another step that is unnecessary. We also checked out at the desk and then we were asked to call when we left!! Way too many steps. Nice area, liked the feel but many flaws.
