The hotel didn’t have continental breakfast or a pool but the restaurant patio had a view of the float plane airport. We had a deluxe room with a sitting room. Super convenient with our kids. Clean, nice that soaps in dispensers. Very green.

Seaplane views
This place was an interesting experience as it is next door to the largest seaplane airport in the world. It is also next to airport parking. The hotel shuttle takes people to airport parking as well. The hotel was older but comfortable. Piper’s restaurant was expensive but very good. All restaurants are expensive in Alaska. We took Ubers to and from downtown. We were just in Anchorage for two days. We watched the seaplanes take off and land from our room window.

We checked in two different nights and they send us to the very back of the hotel both times when you’re tired and weary and have to hike to the very end of the hotel. I asked if we had something that was closer they were full but they have over 200 rooms no elevator first room felt like the carpet was wet or damp, the room gave me the impression that it hadn’t been occupied in a while the room was very stuffy we had to open the windows.

Quick turn and burn
I just wanted to share my recent experience at this hotel. Our stay was brief, and I initially felt that giving it a one-star rating was unfair. The exterior seemed worn down when we arrived, but I understand we are in Alaska. The front desk area, however, was quite lovely, with some recent renovations that gave the lobby area and hallways an updated look. It's important to note that there is no elevator, and I'm not sure if there's anyone available to assist with bags, as we weren't offered help to our room. Despite this, we traveled relatively light with two 40-lb backpacks and a small carry-on-sized roller. Once we got to our room, it became evident that the renovations did not extend to the rooms. We immediately noticed an unusual odor; the carpet seemed unclean and dated. The bed is so-so. The shower did not drain properly. Coffee and possibly ketchup were splattered on the wall. Our window view faced the side of the building, which might not have been a problem if the room wasn't so expensive and they offered a complimentary breakfast. Our stay was less than 12 hours, and we did not have time to eat at the restaurant. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to the airport.

Waited 20-25 minutes for airport pickup, thankfully the hotel next door, the Lake Front Lodge, gave us a ride. Also if you want coffee with your breakfast, they charge same for refills and it’s free in the lobby
