A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. They couldn't do enough for you. Located in the ideal location, on Amstel. It's a 20ish minute walk into the center of Amsterdam (25 minutes to Central Station) and around a 20 minute walk to the Heineken and the Van Gogh Museum. Some lovely restaurants around the area and the hotel backs onto Rembrandtplein, which features clubs and other restaurants. The National Opera and Ballet is on the other side of the water. I stayed in a twin room with canal view and lucked out with the 5th floor overlooking Amstel. The view was stunning. I slept with the curtains open so I could look out overnight. The room was spacious and the bathroom was in good nick. Great facilities in the hotel, including a mini self serve supermarket (including a Starbucks coffee machine) and air hockey and a pool table. I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurants or explore much further, but overall had a great experience at the hotel.

Very secure, as you had to swipe your card at lifts etc, meaning nobody could get into the hotel from the street.

My wife and I stayed here for 8-days and our room was not serviced once. Despite many requests to no avail we took some towels and bed linen from the room service trolley and did this ourselves. Absolutely disgusting service, lots of smiles and assurances from the staff with zero outcome.

The hotel is in a good location and has a useful little shop downstairs, checking in was quick and easy with the self check in service and the room was clean. However, we had the following problems: - on one side of the bed the plug socket did not work -there is no conditioner for hair -plastic bin liners were left in the room by the cleaner -the room (executive suite) looked a lot bigger in the pictures -the room smelt of damp -the wifi cuts out often -no mini fridge

I was travelling with my 19 year old son. The room was lovely but it felt more like a room for a couple. The breakfast was lovely, plenty to choose from and the staff were very friendly. The location was perfect for our two night stay. I only wish I had booked a canal view as the view at the back was not so good, but it was quiet which we were grateful for after long days exploring Amsterdam.
