Wow! What a fun place! Converted Historic National Guard Armory into a Castle. Wow! So much to see inside and out. Erie canal route and Pedestrian walkway over Mohawk (beautiful) in walking distance as well as local restaurants within walking and driving distance. (Guge's hot dogs has great breakfast sandwiches). Totally wonderful time!

Hidden Gem
This is a gem of a place. There is very limited service--no restaurant or bar, but the castle itself is beautiful and it has been restored perfectly. Our room was huge and the decor was great. The bed was very comfortable. I liked that the hotel provided some cereal bars, cookies and bottles of water--helps tide you over until you go out for breakfast. This was a great stay.

This was a great experience. Took a chance on it on a whim and was very happy with it. Never stayed in a castle before so it was a very unique experience. I loved that it had old charm to it but had all the modern conveniences you expect from a new hotel. I'll definitely stay here again if im in the area.

Close to 90…stopped for one night on road trip. Kids loved walking around the Castle. Took pictures with the Knights :) Room was beautiful and huge and so clean, especially bathroom. They thought of everything you would need. Only problem was light from parking lot made room so bright all night. Kids had hard time sleeping. Black out blinds of some sort would make it perfect. Sad that the restaurant was closed. Lots of pizza places and taverns within walking distance but no breakfast or shops. Close to Erie Canal/Mohawk River and Parks. Ended up driving few minutes to Europa Cafe for great breakfast and service.

A must-stay if you're riding the Erie Canal Trail
I was riding the Erie Canalway Trail from Buffalo to Albany. This hotel is right off the trail, and there are good restaurants in easy walking distance. If you're riding the trail, this is THE place to stay in that area. My only wish is that they had a guest laundry, but no big deal
