Checked in very late after a long day of driving. Got the room key, unloaded the kids and dog at 1:30am to find our key cards don't work. Go back down to desk - to find out the key reader of that room doesn't work and the room shouldn't have been rented. Now, I have 2 kids and a dog all standing in the hallway waiting for another room. The AC unit made a very loud noise all night, making sleeping nearly impossible. The hotel itself was fine, and I hope this was an outlier experience, but left frustrated and exhausted.

The room & bathroom roomy & clean. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom had 3 towels, always nice for people with long hair. Hot breakfast. The muffins were delicious. All of the employees were kind & considerate.

Book this last September for two days. We had no hot water, we told the front desk and the staff said they were waiting for parts. We asked for a different room and we're told they were full. Staff said what do you want us to do. I asked for a refund and they got belligerent. After taking to the manager I was able to get the second day refunded and we left.

No hot water! Told me when checking out they were still waiting for parts. Nothing worse than cold showers at that price. Otherwise the breakfast was great. Staff was nice and location was good and room was nice.

I cannot think of anything that stands out about this property. It would seem to fit in the $80/night category rather than well over $100 that my wife and I paid for a room with one king bed. The toilet was loose on its base, rocking back when we sat on it, the “gym” was a motel room with a tv and elliptical that didn’t work, the treadmills did work, if you like fast food restaurants, you will be happy with the limited offerings. Or, you can drive on - or back - to Ames for a better selection.

Check in was the worst experience I’ve ever I countered. Expedia charged my credit card, DID NOT notified my Comfort Inn with confirmation which took 30 minutes to straighten out! Hotel room had used sheets and bed spread on couch (yuck), full garbage can with food containers in it (yuck) shower was stopped up with 4” of dirty soap water (yuck) and toilet was clogged up! (yuck) After a 10 hour driving trip I really didn’t need this. I voiced my complaints to check out gal at front desk! So dissatisfied with Expedia and Comfort Inn! I have been staying here for 4 years 2 times a year when traveling and have never encountered these issues before 😡😡😡
