This property may scare a few away with the low room rate, but let me tell you I was very impressed with the whole experience and would recommend this place to anyone. From the staff to the rooms everything was perfect for our stay! The road noise from I-40 is a bit loud while falling asleep, but not any type of banging, much more like one of those expensive white noise machines !! So that actually will help some people fall asleep!! Speaking of, I must be one of those types, because I slept very well after my very excellent meal at the big Texan. I can’t highly recommend this place enough. A real bargain for the rate that they charge. Thank you!

I get that the place is a tourist attraction. It could use a little bit of updating to the bathrooms. The beds were comfy and clean.

We loved staying here! If you want dinner at the Big Texan Steakhouse then you should definitely try this motel. The rooms are themed and are such a novelty. There rooms were controlled by an electronic keypad so we didn’t need to check in - the code was sent to us. It was really useful to be able to communicate with the front desk via text and they were very quick to reply. Only very small drawback was the air conditioning which was quite loud, but we needed it on!

Please be very careful when staying here and never open your door for anyone. A strange man posing as a police officer at 2:30 am was banging on our door demanding repeatedly that I open our door. He was persistent. He said he was a police officer. Our room was next door to the main office. I called the police. Thank goodness a male family member who was carrying was with me. We think that man saw me walking outside alone the evening before while my male family member was in our room. The man probably thought I was alone. Before we checked into our room we saw a police officer outside near our door talking to 2 young girls. These girls appeared to be “working”. The hotel and staff have always been wonderful! This isn’t their fault. It’s a cute place especially for tourists. We have stayed here for years and this has never happened before. This experience was a little scary as it could have turned out worse. Thank goodness the man left when I told him I was calling the police. I knew not to open our door. That would have easily given this guy access.
