Horrible at first…but better in the end!!
Irene the supervisor at the front desk was very helpful. I had to call and canx 1 of my 2 night stay due to road closures. When they reopened, she was able to assist me to rebook. At checkin, Ava was less than welcoming and she said there was a problem with the room because the guest before me snuck in a pet and strong chemicals were used so the window was left open. When I finally get to the room, the people next door with children were very noisy and someone had a cat that kept meowing. Trying to sleep was difficult. The sink had plugged up and didn’t drain. I brought my concerns to Irene the next morning. I requested a higher floor (as I was on the ground floor). I finally received a call from Ava that a room was available on the 3rd floor. When I went to pick up the key, Ava was very pleasant while she was checking in other guests. I left the hotel to visit with family and upon my return, she was very welcoming and wished me a good night. Although my first encounter was a bit awkward with her I was happy to see she had an attitude adjustment which was very appreciated. Customer service is what it is all about and both Irene and Ava have a hard job but I wanted to give them a pat on the back for what they were able to do for me to make my stay a little better. The hotel is undergoing repairs due to age as it is a bit run down and dated but that is not the staff’s fault sinks & toilets don’t work.
