Large property with lots of amenities, new airport is conveniently only 1hour away, book reservations at the restaurants in advance the Brazil steak house and Japanese Peruvian were our favorites, food check, cleanliness check, location check, staff helpfulness check, highly recommend this resort.

I did not feel that the entertainment staff and shows were enough. The staff did not seem to be enjoying their jobs or engaging. I found it highly unusual that we had to pay for 2 nights of entertainment - so much for all inclusive. There needed to be more bars open during the day and in the evenings. The wait for drinks was very very long some nights. As for the food it was average. The buffet frequently had bowls that were empty and the food was not well labeled so you did not know what you had to choose from. Offering pancakes and waffles every morning was fine but there was only one morning that there was syrup. There were 3 omelet stations for breakfast and you had to go to all three to get the extra ingredients that you wanted for your omelet. We were there for 8 days and had 4 specialty restaurant options. Two were great but two of them were not. I am not sure why we were limited to 4 when the restaurants were no where near full when we were there. Overall it was relaxing but I would not recommend the resort to others or return to it.

Everything seemed clean. We werent sure about the coffee & water cups in our rooms. Were they being cleaned or replaced. I think cleaned or rinsed. I felt in general the property was safe and clean. A Few things to know. We booked at Bahia Principe Grand Tulum. Shuttle was not covered and we had to pay for carry ons with flair. The flair seats were very small for 2 women avg 5ft. Nothing was free. When we arrived at the resort they said they chose us to move over to Akamal as a bonus but then upon questioning they admitted they over booked. So I had to fight with them to stay. If staying at the GBPT the buffet sucked. The food just wasnt up to par. We shuttled up to Coba and the buffet was sooo much better. Eat at Coba if your going. The staff was friendly. The place was clean. Theres a casino on the property that was fun and its own little shopping district. With all the same stuff but still nice. Exscusrions were offered easily. We didnt get sick once on our trip so that was a bonus.

Food is decent/good at buffet. A la carte are hit or miss. Don Pablo had best food but they have a coati problem in the rafters that tends to urinate on diners. They need to address this. Food truck and burger place serve borderline terrible food. All bars are very understaffed so expect long queues. Servers in the evening do a great job and most of the time quicker to get a drink than waiting in line for bar service. Thankful for the quiet pool, also best beach area near that pool. No bar open at theatre where nightly entertainment is held. There is one but they choose to not open it….weird. Renovated rooms already seem dated, they are very basic but did the trick. Nespresso machines would be a welcome addition as those tired coffee makers aren’t great. Only place to get a decent coffee is at the lobby bar, they have self serve coffee machines also as an option but the coffee that those machines produce is terrible All in all a decent budget friendly option that features lush greenery and fun wildlife throughout the resort. Most staff members are very friendly. Its proximity to Akumal beach is a plus and easy to get there to enjoy snorkeling and spotting sea turtles.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about the property and the staff. The one big surprise is that there is no room service at the Tulum resort. I did find that the concierge phone staff was lacking with its responses and ability to resolve a few minor issues.

The staff is over the top excellent, welcoming happy vibe throughout the different areas of the resort. No issues with the food or drinks. The a la carte restaurants are good but not gourmet like other resorts I have been to. Lobby bar is the one area that could use a revamp, Coba lobby bar had a way better vibe. Bed and pillows were not great but how much time do you really spend in your room lol.

Generally everything was great. The only issues we had was booking at the A la carte Restaurants, the app worked well but availability wasn't good for the popular restaurants. There was multiple Japanese restaurants, there could have been a more detailed description of each restaurant. Food at the main buffet restaurant was a 4 out of 5.

Pros: Check in was easy, the property was well maintained. Many food options, I liked the Yucatan buffet. The staff were very friendly. Property was very close to the beach. I enjoyed going snorkeling and swimming at the beach. Also enjoyed the entertainment, specially the back to the 80’s and all the latin music. I also enjoyed the spa service. The lady did a great job. Cons: - At check in, I was supposed to get a room upgrade, but they said they didn’t have any rooms available as it was full. - The day we had to check out, we asked for luggage pickup service. We had to be at the lobby for the transfer to the airport. I had scheduled everything in advance. Nobody came to pick up our luggage, and the transfer person was waiting for us. Luckily I walked to the lobby to check out, so I finally had to yell at them to get someone to pickup our luggage. At this time, the transfer guy said we were late, so he was refusing to take us even though the vehicle was still there. I then had to go to the Coming 2 counter and tell them. The lady there was really nice, and she came out and spoke to the driver and told him to take us. Luckily at that time, my husband and our luggage made it to the lobby. That was the only incident we had during our stay. Other than that everything was really good.

First time here and it did not disappoint. This place is not only beautiful, but full of life. The beach is gorgeous, and the resort has so much entertainment. Many restaurants with full access and service is very friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about this place, and would so go back again.

The property is absolutely amazing. The food was excellent. Staff super polite and helpful. I love the fact that there are different sections of the resort that you can access to change things up. My only complaint about the resort services would be the drinks can be very inconsistent from bar to bar The only thing that we really weren't happy about is that they allow a time share company to set up in the main lobby and operate under the guise that they are part of the resort. They trick you into going to a horrible high pressure sales session. I had to finally get pretty rude before they would let us out. Wasted a morning.

My friends and I booked 2 rooms for this all-inclusive resort and were told we could book 2 "a la carte" restaurants but to sit together, we would need to email the property. I emailed the property for weeks beforehand, as did my friends to ensure we would be able to get a meal and sit together, and the property never answered. When we got there, the staff was very dismissive and said there was nothing they could do. We also were supposed to have a bottle waiting in our room upon arrival and we did not get it until the second to last day upon complaining numerous times. Additionally, our hotel room had a terrible ant infestation and we had to call them every night to help us exterminate the problem, but it never went away. The ants were all over all of our stuff. The phone in the room did not always work and so we had to walk to the front desk which was very far from our room to alert them of this issue. The staff at the front desk also did not speak amazing english and there was tons of miscommunication. The wifi/television also kept disconnecting for days at a time. The food in the buffet was completely unorganized. I am a vegetarian and the food was not labeled properly at all which made it hard to know what was safe to eat. Additionally, there was 1 pair of tongs for every 4 dishes so the same pair of tongs was being used for meat as the vegetarian dishes.

Some of food and options were not always available. The restaurant were restrained ( I had just 2 restaurants booking for 5 nights and 6 days stay) not enough seat and bench chairs around the pool
