This was our second time here and it's a great little hotel for the price. Convenient location, quiet, clean and very friendly staff. This is my first pick for the area, no complaints.

If you’re looking for the high-end Ritz Carlton type stay, then this is not for you. However, if you’re looking for a place that provides comfortable large rooms made for extended stay, then you’ll love this place. Sure, it’s a little outdated, but it’s well-maintained. The staff was super friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They also provided a very nice breakfast service in the morning. My stay there was everything I needed for a great price.

The property and room was excellent. The breakfast was very good with a menus that changes daily. The staff very friendly. The room, bath, carpet, halls and everywhere very clean. I had never stayed at a Hawthorne before and was skeptical about what it would be like. It was better than many places I have stayed that cost twice as much. I recommend it and would stay again. The night clerk and morning clerk at the front desk were extremely friendly.

Excellent Weekend Stay
We stayed at the hotel while visiting family in Ohio. Easy check in, the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. It was a basic room, but clean and included a mini refrig & microwave. The bed was comfy and it was a very quiet weekend. The hotel offers a tasty breakfast... sausage patties, scrambled eggs, hash brown, waffles, yogurt, toast, muffins, bagels, juice and fruit. Complimentary coffee is right next to the breakfast room. This is our second stay and will most likely book again when visiting family. Thank you!

My family needed a quick overnight stop during a road trip and I thought based on reviews this would be ok. It was absolutely disgusting. One of the worst nights of sleep I have ever had. The room was filthy. I don’t know the last time the carpet was cleaned or even vacuumed. Pieces of food and garbage were camouflaged in the carpet design, but we kept feeling them under our feet and kept shoes on as much as possible. There was black mold in the bathroom around the shower and in the floor tile grout. There must be no insulation between rooms because the room above us was unbelievably loud. At 11pm there was constant running back and forth and jumping. Maybe a ball being dribbled. It was keeping our whole family awake. All we could hear was constant thumping and creaking, as if ceiling was about to cave in. We had to call the front desk twice about it. We were up and out at 5:30am after a night of hardly any sleep because we couldn’t get out of this place soon enough. Yikes, don’t make our mistake!

Clean Room, Decent Stay
This was a regular run of the mill hotel. We had a very large room but it was in need of updating. It appeared to be clean though. My biggest issue was with the curtains not closing all the way and the AC unit being under the one set of curtains. We had to rig the curtains up so the AC was actually blowing into the room and not behind the curtains. The room cooled down after that. Also, this might be trivial but the room has a mini kitchen area however, the trash can was tiny. They need to be much larger. We ended up using the bag we got from Subway, for our trash. And the one side of the bed did not have any access to an electrical outlet. There needs to be access to an outlet or USB port on each side of the bed. Overall, it was a good value, it was right off the highway and there were some chain restaurants right down the street. I'd stay here again if i was in the area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the property is showing its age. Our room still had the lingering odor of smoke even though the staff claimed that the property had been smoke-free for 10 years. So, they must not have replaced the carpet, curtains, etc. for 10 years because you could still smell that the room had, at one time, been a smoking room. Also, the beds were a little too soft and did not provide much in the way of back support.
