Let’s start with the good. The location is probably the best at Ocean Shores for beach access. Literally walk to the beach within minutes. The pool is saltwater not chlorine and is in overall good shape. Pool is heated and hot tub works too which apparently is not a given for the hotels in Ocean Shores. At check in I gave my credit card to the rude guy at the counter only to have them charge my debit card used to make the reservation! Also not worth $205 a night which was not what I reserved! Won’t do it again restaurant hasn’t been open in over 2 years!!!

This is the first time in 20 years I have been coming down to the ocean that I actually have stayed here... One of the perks that I looked for when choosing where to stay was pet friendly, Access to the beach, A pool, And easy walking distance to town! The room was great and was in an area that was fairly quiet Which I appreciate it while having my dogs with me on this trip. The downfall to this trip was that I didn't get to use the pool Because I was just too tired! The elevator is really small. Hard to put a luggage cart and two dogs plus three adults without being in very close quarters. Otherwise this may be my new locato stay in the future!

We were given only one towel for two guests and they didn’t have more for us. The desk person blamed that guests weren’t leaving them in the hallway to get washed. View would have been nice but limited. Overgrown vegetation.

The hotel is under staffed room had no towels or a shower curtain moved us to a new room but that took a lot of time they had no help and the CEO need to help these workers they have 10 employees for a 450 room hotel

Disgusting

The hotel is run down and filthy. Bugs everywhere, roof leaks, I’ve attached photos. They did not offer breakfast - breakfast is one of the reasons I booked this hotel instead of another. My son cut his leg in the pool, there was blood everywhere and they didn’t even ask if he was okay. They gave me gauze and a bandaid, and didn’t come to clean up the blood. It probably is still on the floor.
This was the vent in the bathroom, it was not on the ceiling. This is reachable by hand on the wall, and should have been cleaned between visits. Filthy.

For what I paid for 2 rooms for one night, I would have expected a cleaner room with comfortable beds, pillows and a coffee pot in the room. I will never stay here again.

Placed in room with no heat, broken lamp, no toiletries, no Kleenex, no coffee, 1/2 roll of to, 1 washcloth, no hand towels. The property has only become more run down in the 3 years I have been staying at Shilo. The restaurant was closed again. I paid a lot for my stay, I was disappointed in that part of my trip. I will find somewhere else to stay next year.

The bed was rock hard. The check-in staff lacked in customer service skills, though the staff on check-out was way more courteous. However, both were not focused on making us a priority. The hotel was dated and while that isn't a deal breaker, the attention to detail to go above and beyond to keep it clean, spotless, and cared for was missing.

The room was very spacious,but not clean, ther was alot of dust. I could tell the toilet had not been cleaned for quite awhile. I had a ocean veiw, but the windows were so dirty it was difficult looking through them. I did wipe down the door window that made it a better veiw.The bacony had standing water and mudd on it, and the rails were filthy. There was two white plastic chairs on the balcony that we could not sit on because they were green with pollen. There was not a coffee pot or coffee in the room. There was one 2 towels and one wash cloth in the bathroom. Under the bathroom sing there was a pretty big water stain and dead flies in it.

Not unexpected

I read reviews and felt fully aware of the outdated condition of the hotel. Was surprised to find no towels in my room, I had to ask for them at the front desk. No toiletries either. Stated they were “waiting on a shipment,” which felt like a line they’ve used a lot. The staff was friendly and available. The building itself is definitely run down. Very 90’s. Double paned windows with moisture trapped, impacting the view. The balcony felt unsafe. Climate control in my room was great. Quiet nights even with a room by the elevator. Restaurant closed, pool and gym were open. Plenty of walkable areas nearby for food and activities. Good location, just plan on bringing your own bath amenities.
