“Perfect Caribbean Hotel”
I found the staff very accommodating. We changed our rooms on the second day because we wanted my elderly parents (86) closer to us. They were so helpful and understanding. Our children had a great time and enjoyed ordering room service every afternoon. This was my third time staying at the Sandos Playacar and they did not disappoint.
“Relaxing and Fun”
The staff there is amazing. Hard working, friendly and knowledgable. Clean rooms, pools, beach; the whole environment is beautiful. I felt as though the staff really tried to exceed my expectations. They had fun activities all day long; never a dull moment. I can't wait to go back.
The only negatives were that the staff told us there was no spa/hot tub. We found out there was on our last day and woukld have used it every day. They also didn't tell us enough about the trip to Chichen Itza -- that it took 11 hours. We had prepared for about 4 hours and lunch didn't happen until 2:30 which was very late since we left at 7:30am. We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back again.
The hotel had mostly clean areas, but the comfort was OK, and I say that because I know they can not have nice expensive pillows, ect. but it was still OK. The hotel staff were AMAZING, they were always very nice and they all take pride in their job, they have the nicest staff I have EVER seen in any hotels/resorts.
“The best hotel ever!!!”
The best hotel ever! The best location! Very friendly service and people. Thank you so much!
“All what you need”
It is all what you can expect form resort of this class. I don’t know what the people with the bad reviews are finding bad. From the noise to the food I don’t see any issue. When you go on vacation you don’t expect to stay by yourself in isolation, yes you will see people and they will see you. The food – simply, amazing from the variety to the freshness. The beds were somewhat hard, but you go into the room only at night when you are tired and don’t feel it. Again vacation is to be outside among people and not sitting in the room. The entertainment – There is show for everyone in the resort. The beach is one of the cleanest in the 3 miles stretch north of the resort. Location and movement within the resort was one of the easiest part. The resort is the last one of string of resorts and it is good to go at their not developed area which is like jungle. You can see all kinds of animals without paying $150 to see the jungle, but be careful. Do not walk by yourself there. The staff makes relaxing the days for you and you don’t have to care for anything. If you want to have good relaxing vacation go to Sandos if you want to have something else then go to another place. Two things for this resort and any vacationer in Mexico. Do not get sucked up by the time share offers on every corner and do not buy the stuff from the vendors on the streets or on the beach unless you are expert for the crafts they selling to you.
“A great stay!”
Bed was a little stiff, but other than that, a great stay. Loved (LOVED) the beach, water, and pool. Restaurants were great too. Best place we ate at was the Brazilian and Asian restaurants. Best food I've eaten in a long time.
“Great place for family vacation”
amazing service and accomodations. we spent there 8 days, including New Year. best party ever away from home. traveling with 3 kids can be a challenge but not at sandos. between beach, kids club, and pools, everyone was busy, happy, realaxed. the best place for family vacation. make sure you reserve your dinners in advance. they were booked full 2-3 days in advance.
“Surprisingly, nice hotel !”
The beach is amazing. The Food is not bad if you go to the buffet or the Mexican restaurant. You are in Mexico, stick to Mexican food...they know how to cook it. If you go to the other restaurants, you will be disappointed. Well, this is the same with each "all-inclusive" resort I have been to. Come on, who wants "Asian food" in Mexico? The pool is small and crowded...but who cares when you have the Ocean? The spa area is very nice: Jacuzzi and Gym are more than decent. Very nice and dedicated French kid (Adrien) in charge of the gym. Service is overall slow; again, who cares when you are on vacations? Rooms are clean. Our room was a bit far from the beach, but the walk is pleasant. Entertainment is amazingly different to other all-inclusive...Well, they still have the stupid theater with annoying shows. But, they also have night events. My two favorite ones: Wednesday's mexican night (band and market) and Monday's live rock band (they play anything from ACDC to classic rocks...to Mexican rock). Overall, I liked this resort and I am coming back during Xmas vacations. As a refence, I have been to H10, Marriott, Riu palace (twice) in Cancun and Iberostar, H10, Barceló, Princess in Punta Cana...The Sandos in Playacar is my favorite one...so far.
This all-inclusive resort is one of the best in Riviera Maya in terms of the beach, food, staff and management.
