"Short family trip to Charleston"
We stayed in a two bed queen room. The Hotel is a grand southern one with very charming staff. It is well located by King Street with nearby,(but expensive) parking. The room is large and fits with Charleston as it feel grand. The bathroom small. Good facilities in the room(tea, coffee, hairdryer, water). The Swamp Fox restaurant has a well priced menu for dinner,(if not for the kids) but good well priced breakfast options. A grand hotel to visit a grand city. Charming southern staff and a great location.

"Nice Downtown Charleston Hotel"
King Charles Inn is a high quality hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston that is within walking distance to just about all of the great places to eat and shop. I stayed there for business and found a great rate on Expedia. Room was nice, clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. The staff is friendly. There is a nice outside area that is covered, in front of the pool to have a drink or some food. The lobby and common areas are not that large but it does feel like a historic inn. Decent parking for downtown Charleston.

"WONDERFUL Staff, great central location."
The Staff at Planters Inn, (William and Josh, specifically) went out of their way to be accommodating. My wife fractured her knee a few weeks before this trip. The wheelchair at the hotel was broke when we arrived, however, within a few hours, they had located another one from another hotel and had it delivered to the room. We used it all during the stay and was a lifesaver. The Bellman's were all great helping with the valet and chair issues daily. Location served us great as we rolled all over with ease. Room was nice as expected and maid service was excellent.

"Good choice, great location!"
We stayed for two nights. Overall, it was great! The pool was a necessity...and very busy! Beds were comfy and the bathroom was roomy enough. My 3 star comfort rating is for room size overall, which was tight for two adults and two large teenage boys. Also, I slept on the far side of the room and the AC blew across the ceiling and bounced off the wall right in my face/shoulder. I was either cold or hot when the AC was not blowing. Amenities were awesome, beautiful hotel. Would stay here again!

"Beautiful Hotel! Close to Historic Charleston."
From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, the 'southern charm' of the staff was amazing!! From the front desk clerk, to the concierge, to the servers and bartenders to the bellhops - all were absolutely incredible!! This was our annual mother/daughter trip and we got quite accustomed to being called 'Maam' and hearing ' yes Maam' and 'thank you Maam'! So cute! The staff went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable!!

Dating back to Colonial times, Charleston, home to 120,000 people, was nearly obliterated during the American Civil War. However, some historic buildings remain and are popular destinations, including Fort Sumnter, Boone Hall Plantation, and the Old Exchange Buildings. The South Carolina Aquarium, home to 10,000 plants and animals, is another popular tourist attraction.
